Share Your Voice, Words, or Music

The Emily Program Foundation is putting together Volume 1 of a CD showcasing artists affected by eating disorders. Material for songs, poetry or prose need not necessarily be complete and can
be anonymous. Local musicians or spoken word artists are available to perform the material, co-
write or help arrange any ideas you might have.

The album will be recorded, produced, and mastered at Essential Sessions Recording studio in St.
Paul. Essential Sessions is donating studio time to the project. There is no cost to participate.
Participates can include Emily Program clients past or present, or anyone who has ever struggled
with anorexia, bulimia, compulsive overeating, binge eating or has been close to someone who has struggled.

Some goals of the recordings are:

  • To fundraise for the Emily Program Foundation- dedicated to eliminating eating disorders through advocacy and education
  • To provide an outlet for artistic expression for those affected by an eating disorder
  • To create a compilation of art speaks to those suffering from an eating disorder or their loved ones
  • To increase awareness of eating disorders, highlighting their complexity, misperceptions, continuity with mainstream culture, and the depth of emotion and character of those suffering

Submissions are ongoing until the compilation feels complete. Material that does not fit the
overall vibe of this CD or is received after the project is completed will be considered for future volumes. Send submissions (mp3s, word documents, or just an email expressing interest) to Sarah at pray8587@gmail.com.

Thank you for considering sharing your work. Hope to hear from you!
